Wayne L. Bohacik

Wayne L. Bohacik, 73, of Lafayette, formerly of Monon passed away on April 7, 2016 at his home in Lafayette.He was born on November 9, 1942 in Chicago to the late Louis A. and Emily (Valuch) Bohacik. On December 31, 1978 he married the former Nikki German in Kalamazoo, MI and she preceded him in death on August 10, 2008. He then married the former Barbara Woodcock on June 13, 2009. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2010.Wayne was a graduate of Morton High School in Hammond. He was the Chief Business Manager of a marketing company, formerly PMI in Lombard, IL from which he retired. He then moved to Monon and started working at Walmart stocking shelves and was also a door greeter. He was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Reynolds and was a member of the Monon Eagles. Wayne enjoyed going to outdoor festivals, covered bridge festivals, and boating. He also enjoyed going to Cubs games and spending time with family and friends.He is survived by his children, Todd (Cathy) Bohacik, Valparaiso and Cara (Salvador) Hernandez of Lafayette; several grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by two sons, Wayne, II and Ryan. Memorial visitation will be from 4:00 pm (ET) until 7:00 pm Friday, April 22, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Memorial services celebrating Waynes life will follow visitation at 7 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Charles Blakey of St. James Lutheran Church of Reynolds celebrating.Private burial will be in Bedford Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given in Wayne's name to Riley Children's Hospital.
