Virginia Mary Griep Greenen, of N. Ft. Myers, FL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 7th, 2022, with her loving family by her side.
Virginia was born on October 12, 1941, in New Effington, SD, to the late Leo and Catherine Griep. She attended boarding school for part of her school years and then moved to St. Paul for high school where she graduated in 1959. In July, 1962, Virginia met Charles, the love of her life and husband of nearly 60 years. She was a housewife and cared for the family. Virginia and Charles moved many times, to many different places to follow Charles career. Eventually they settled in Monticello, IN, where they owned and operated Arrowhead Campground from 1977-1987.
After their last child graduated from high school, they moved to Lafayette, where Virginia started working at Home Hospital. After another move, she began to work at a medical insurance company and then ultimately retired from Hurco, in Indianapolis, IN in 2011, while living in Noblesville, IN.
Virginia loved quilting, painting, ceramics, needlepoint, tole painting, sewing, gardening, opera and reading. You would find her in a quilt store several times a week.
