Thelma D. Snowberger, 92, of Monticello, passed away at 6:25 pm, Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Whispering Pines. She was born on November 10, 1921 in Medaryville to the late Vearnie and Goldie Page (Allen) Stotler. On October 15, 1941 she married Virgil O. Snowberger in Monticello, and he preceded her in death January 17, 1979. Thelma was a 1942 graduate of Rockfield High School. She farmed with her husband, worked at the Frosty Mug now Harvest Time for 18 years, and drove the White County Council on Aging bus for several years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello, an active supporter and volunteer at the White County Food Pantry, Monticello Union Township Public Library, and White County Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed gardening, going for walks in the woods, playing cards, and reading. Surviving are five sons, Ron (Teresa) Snowberger of Monticello, Carl (Dianne) Snowberger of Lafayette, Stephen (Cindy) Snowberger of Monticello, Norman Snowberger of Burnettsville, and Danny Snowberger of Monticello; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Melvin Stotler and an infant brother; sister Maxine Spear; and a son, Douglas Allen Snowberger. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of services at 2 pm, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Ryan Bailey of the First Baptist Church of Monticello officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery, Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry or to the First Baptist Church of Monticello. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
