Taylor Lynn Tolen

Taylor L. Tolen, 31, of Kokomo, formerly of Monticello, died at 1:14am, Monday, November 25, 2013 at St Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Logansport on September 14, 1982. Taylor was a 2001 graduate of Twin Lakes High School and she attended Monticello United Methodist Church. Taylor was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, biking, camping, and hiking. She was tender-hearted towards animals and rescued many. She also loved antiques and bargaining for the cheapest price. She enjoyed reading. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her family but above all, she cherished time spent with her children. She is survived by her mother, Sandy Tolen (companion Glen Hofmeyer) of Monticello; father Keith (Vickie) Tolen of Monticello; two young sons, Hunter Alexander and Wesley Adam Scott; companion, Mr. Stacy Lowry of Kokomo; brother, Riley (Ashley) Tolen of Holly Springs, North Carolina; two step-brothers, Brian Quasebarth of Monticello, Tracy Quasebarth of Muskegon, Michigan; paternal grandparents, Kenneth (Linda) Tolen of Ocala, Florida; aunt, Debbie Govert of Lafayette; and uncle, Greg (Gina) Spence of Monticello. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Robert and Patricia Spence. Visitation will be from 4pm until 7pm, Friday, November 29, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home and also one hour prior to services on Saturday. Funeral services will be 11am, Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Beeks of Monticello United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery, rural Monticello. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family in care of Taylor's mother, Sandy Tolen to assist with expenses. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
