Sondra "Sondy" Smith Rock, 84, of Reynolds, passed away on Monday, May 11th, 2026.She was born on August 2nd, 1941, in Milwaukee to the late Lloyd and Dorothy (Berg) Smith. She married Howard Rock in 1994 and he survives.

Sondy graduated high school in 1959 from Maryvale High School in New York, received her BA degree from Purdue University in 1964, and her MS in Education degree from Indiana University in 1982. She taught multiple grades at Reynolds Elementary School over her 40+ year teaching career and was a member of Indiana State Teacher's Association. She also worked/volunteered at CDC in her early career.

Sondy enjoyed knitting, sewing and especially cooking. Her specialty was tater-tot casserole and meatloaf. She was a member of Reynolds United Methodist Church where she was a Cub Scout leader for her boys.

Sondy cherished her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and loved to make gifts for them. She enjoyed 4th of July cookouts and any holiday that would bring her family together. 

In addition to her husband, Howard, she is survived by her sons, Trent (Cathy) Seymour of Brookston, Bryan Seymour of Reynolds, Jeff Seymour of Hattiesburg, MS; daughter-in-law, Miki Seymour of Lafayette; step-daughter, Fonda Rock of Lafayette; grandchildren, Taylor (Jake) Lehe, Melissa Reedy (fiancé, Ben Grant), Hayley Reedy, Wyatt Reedy, Jordan (Jenna) Bailey, Morgan Seymour, Madison (Parker) Johnson, Colin Seymour, Andrew Seymour; great grandchildren, Wade Lehe, Wren Lehe, Maverick Grant, Everett Bailey, Arie Bailey; and step-grandchildren, CJ Stearns, James (Kirsten) Foster, Jennifer (Anthony) Polen and Douglas (Jasmin) Rock; step-great grandchildren Ryan Foster, Skylar Foster, Kratos Foster, Jayse Foster, Karissa Shearer, Ellis Polen, Owen Polen, Alycea Rock, Max Rock and Zara Rock.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Kent (Cheryl) Smith.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until the time of services at 7:00 pm Saturday, May 16th, 2026 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Russ Alley officiating,
