Sherry Ann Long, 76, of Monticello, passed away at 3:22 am, Monday, April 10, 2017 at White Oak Health Campus.She was born on November 17, 1940, in Monticello, to the late Bill and Thelma (Marcum) Criswell. On October 21, 1967 she married Don Long in Monticello at the First Presbyterian Church and he survives.Sherry was a member of the Oak Grove Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess. She worked at her father's restaurant, The Spot Drive-Inn. She and Don operated Willow Grove Restaurant in Livingston, TN. She and Don moved back to Monticello and bought the Taco Shoppe and they co-operated it for 18 years, from which she retired. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose in Monticello.She enjoyed cats, gardening, cooking and fishing in Minnesota. Above all else, she cherished her family and raising her four boys.In addition to her husband, Don, she is survived by her four sons, Greg (Sandy) Johnson of Monticello, Michael (Teresa) Johnson of Lafayette, Tracey (Tanya) Soliday of Howey In The Hills, FL, Randy (Sandy) Soliday of Monticello; two stepdaughters, Denise (Dennis) Kincaid of Marshall,Texas, Tammy Kleeb of Granbury,Texas; sister, Eugenia L. Jarrard of Lakeland, FL; eleven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Misenheimer.Visitation will be on Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 11 am until the time of services at 2 pm, celebrating Sherry's life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Dr. Ashli Cartwright-Peak officiating.Burial will follow at the Oak Grove.Memorial contributions may be given to the Oak Grove Church or The Alzheimer's Association.
