Scott Douglas Metzger

Scott Douglas Metzger, 60, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at his residence in Monticello.

He was born on July 27, 1962 in Ft. Wayne to the late Robert Metzger and Marilyn (Grogg) Metzger. His mother later remarried and was known as Marilyn Gutwein. On July 22, 1994 he married Sherry Blissitt in Monticello. She survives.

Scott was a graduate of West Central High School. He worked for Ball Corporation for 30 years. Scott was a toy car collector and enjoyed watching car programs and the History channel. He was a homebody and enjoyed his home.

In addition to his wife, Sherry he is survived by his children, Douglas (Ashley) Metzger of Winamac, Kimberly (Waylon) Burke of Winamac, Stacey (Wyatt) Roth of Indianapolis, Hannah Metzger of Monticello; sisters, Teresa (Paul) Selinsky, Caroline (Stan) Cline, Amanda (Scott) Liter; brothers, Dave (Arlene) Metzger, Dan (Deb) Metzger; eight grandchildren, Destini Gould, Emri Metzger, Peyton Burke, Paxton Burke, Colin Roth, Leyli Metzger, Brodie Roth, and Hensley Roth.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Mark Metzger; and grandson, Leyton Metzger.

Visitation will be on Monday, February 20, 2023 from 11:00 am until time of memorial services celebrating Scott's life at 1pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church will officiate services.

Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F Cemetery in rural Monticello.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Crisis Center of Lafayette. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
