Sandra "Sandy" K Watkins

Sandra Kay "Sandy" Watkins, 68, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025 at IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis.

She was born on October 18, 1957 in Middlesboro, KY to the late Virgil J. and Juanita (Baker) Whitaker. On July 27, 1977 she married Douglas N. "Doug" Watkins at the Colburn Road Baptist Church in Lafayette. He survives.

She was a 1977 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. She worked at several places over the course of her career including Tru Flight Arrow, Arnett Clinic, Landis Plastics, Revive Therapy and CDC Resources in Monticello. Sandy was a caregiver and tremendous help with her mother and grandson. She enjoyed life, cherished her family and was cherished by her family.

In addition to her husband, Doug she is survived by her children, Christopher (Megan) Watkins, Daniel (Shannon) Watkins, Candace (Jason) Wells, all of Monticello; brother, Dennis Whitaker of Monticello; grandchildren, Noah Wells, Emma Watkins; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 3, 2026 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm celebrating Sandy's life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Tim McQuinn officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Leukemia Foundation. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
