S. Dana Bell

Stephen Dana Bell, 52, Lafayette, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, August 12, 2007. He was born February 7, 1955, in Monticello, to the late William L. "Baldy"Bell and June (Shields) Bell. She survives in Lafayette. His marriage was to Linda Winget on November 21, 1981 in West Lafayette. She survives in Dayton, IN. Dana attended Monticello Schools before moving to Lafayette where he graduated from Lafayette Jeff High School in 1973. Mr. Bell worked for ALCOA for the last 30 years, first in the Tool and Die Shop and the last two years in the Water Treatment Plant. Dana was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed biking, hiking, fishing, and canoeing. He did most of his hiking with his faithful dog Mandy. Other survivors include: 2 Sons, Matthew S. Bell of California, Brian M. Bell of Dayton, IN 2 Sisters, Karen (Bob) Carlisle of Lafayette, IN, Kathy Coon of New Albany, IN 1 Brother, Dennis "Buck" (Kathy)Bell of Floyds Knobs, IN He is preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM, Tuesday, August 14 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, 202 S. Illinois St., Monticello, IN 47960. Funeral services will be conducted at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Wednesday, August 15, 2007, at 11 AM. The eulogy will be given by J.C. "Red"Winget. Burial will be in Idaville Cemetery, Idaville, IN. Friends can best remember Dana with memorial donations made to the Almost Home Humane Society of Lafayette.
