Ruth A. Gregory

Ruth A. Gregory, 93, of Monticello, died at 5:50 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Monticello Assisted Living and Healthcare Center. She was born on October 20, 1920 in Westville to the late Hiland and Ruth (Gundy) Weaver. On February 15, 1958, in the old Monticello Christian Church, she married Robert Gregory. He survives and resides in Monticello. She was a graduate of Francesville High School and worked as bookkeeper for Tall Timbers Marina and also for the family business, Gregory disposal. She was a member of the Francesville United Methodist Church and the American Legion Womens Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, fishing, bingo, and traveling. She loved cooking and baking and was especially known for her Christmas Cookies and candies. She loved decorating her home for all holidays. She loved dogs. She also liked feeding and watching the birds and squirrels. She is also survived by two sons, Peter (Sasiyada) Shuler of Bangkok, Thailand, Michal (Marla) Gregory of Monticello; two daughters, Patricia Haniford (Companion B.J. Delorenzo) of Winamac, Rebecca (Leo) King of Tilford, TN; sister, Betty Jo Bracken of Hobart; four grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Schramm of Winamac, Andrea (Todd) Keller of Monterey, Jeff (Samantha) Spencer of Tilford, TN, Kyle (Amy) Spencer of Indianapolis; and nine great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Mary Alice Weaver; and a brother, Hiland "Buck" Weaver. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, December 13, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
