Ronald Rex Stanley

*****BURIAL LOCATION HAS CHANGED*****Ronald Rex "Ron" Stanley, 81, of Monticello, passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2017 in West Lafayette.He was born on April 26, 1936 in Danville to the late Maxwell Ernest and Mildred (Smith) Stanley. His life companion, Jean Rector survives in West Lafayette. He was a Danville High School graduate and was a life long farmer starting out on his own at the age of 18. Ron worked for Kenny Implement and mowed for Indiana Beach since 1995. When Kenny Implement sold out, Ron took over the mowing contract. He raised registered Angus cattle since 2004 and enjoyed construction as a hobby. Ron loved to dance and had an entrepreneurial spirit. He was a member of Eagles and the Moose.In addition to his life companion, Jean Rector, he is survived by two children, Rex D. (Paula) Stanley of Monticello and Ronda (Justin) Stanley of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Grant, Justin, Stacey and Jazlyn; and two great grandchildren.He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri DeYoung, and brothers, Jerry and Wayne Stanley.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Monday, October 16, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday at the funeral home.Burial will follow at Riverview IOOF Cemetery, Monticello.Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry or the American Heart Association.
