Ronald Dean Erb

Ronald Dean Erb, 66, of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully at 2:40 pm, Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at his residence.

He was born in Logansport on December 13, 1955 to Kenneth and Betty (Heims) Erb. Ron was preceded in death by his father, stepfather, George Perry, as well as his beloved Rottweiler, Starr Nitschke. Rons mother survives in Indianapolis.

Ron graduated Twin Lakes High School in 1973 where he was an All Conference third baseman and catcher for the Indians. Playing baseball and beating his little brother at Scrabble were just a couple of his favorite pastimes. Ron's love for the Green Bay Packers, Strohs and NHRA racing were his biggest trademarks. Ron loved competition and had no problems beating anyone on the golf course after completing his daily crossword puzzle. He also loved riding his Harley, bowling in his league and competing in "amateur" dart tournaments in the Indianapolis area.

Ron worked as a professional machinist all of his adult life and retired from Peerless Pump after 15 years.

He is survived by his son, Jeffery (Emily) Dawson of Temple, TX; one sister, Toni (Dave) Wineland of Indianapolis and a brother, Charles (Shari) Erb of Columbus, OH; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, and Chase; four nieces and nephews, Christopher (Miranda) Wineland, Shelbi (Phil) Welsh, Landon Erb and Helen Erb; one grandniece, Averi Wineland.

Visitation will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of service celebrating Ron's life at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.

Memorial contributions may be made to Twin Lakes High School Athletic Dept. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
