Robert Gregory, 88, of Monticello, passed away at 4:26 am, Monday, October 12, 2020 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.
He was born on January 7, 1932 in Lafayette to the late Robert and Dorothy Gregory. On February 15, 1958 he married Ruth Weaver at the Monticello Christian Church. She preceded him in death on December 10, 2013.
Robert was a graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He served in the United States Air Force. Robert was a bread delivery man for Wonder and Holsom bread and later owner of Gregory Disposal. He was also the trolley driver for Indiana Beach. Robert was a member of the American Legion and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed working in his yard, bowling, traveling and spending time on the lake. Robert loved his Yorkie dogs. He was an avid Purdue fan, and enjoyed attending Cubs games.
He is survived by two sons, Michal (Marla) Gregory of Monticello and Peter (Sasigada) Shuler of Bangkok, Tailand; two daughters, Patricia (Companion B.J. Delorenzo) Haniford of Winamac and Rebecca King of Johnson City; one brother, William Gregory of FL; four grandchildren, Kim (Chris) Schramm of Winamac, Andrea (Todd) Keller of Monterey, Jeff (Samantha) Spencer of Johnson City, TN and Kyle (Amy) Spencer of Broad Ripple; and ten great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by a son-in- law, Leo King.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, October 16, 2020 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church officiating.
Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello.
Memorial contributions may be given to Happy Tails or White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
