Robert "Bondo" Benjamin

Robert "Bondo" Benjamin, 62, of Culver, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2023 at his residence surrounded by family.

He was born on August 4, 1960 in Mishawaka to the late Robert A. and Phyllis J. (Smith) Benjamin. In March of 1990, he married Laurie Schrameyer and she survives.

He was a 1978 graduate of Mishawaka High School and went on to work as a supervisor in the paint department of AM General for over 30 years. He was very well respected and looked up to by many. He was a jack of all trades. Bob loved helping people in any way he could without expecting anything in return. He got his nickname, Bondo from being a master at bodywork. He was always busy doing something. He had a passion for fixing cars and restoring old ones. His favorite vehicle was his 69 Camaro Z28. In his free time, he loved to fish. Most importantly, he loved his family and spending time with them.

In addition to Laurie, he is also survived by his children, Travis (Bonnie) Benjamin of North Port, FL, Brooke Benjamin of Plymouth, Cody (Allasyn) Benjamin of Ft. Wayne; brother, Thomas (Kim) Benjamin of Canton, MI; five grandchildren, Travis, Joseph and Samuel of FL, Parker and Kinzie of Ft. Wayne.

A celebration of life will be held on August 5, 2023 at the family residence.  Please contact a family member for details.
