Richard Kimberly

Richard H. "Rich" Kimberly, 30, of Monticello, passed away at 8:51 am, Monday, October 9, 2017.He was born on November 4, 1986 in Monticello. On October 2, 2009 he married the former Alicia Bunnell in Monticello and she survives. Rich was a graduate of North White High School where he played football and basketball. He joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Drum, NY. He served in the 10th Mountain Division in Afghanistan. After his military service, he worked in home construction as a framer. Rich enjoyed fishing, hiking, playing darts, bicycling, traveling and ocean side beaches. He loved spending time with his family especially his children. He liked being one of the kids; he was a big kid at heart. Most everyone who knew Rich will fondly remember him for his love of Ancient Aliens and cheeseburgers.In addition to his wife, Alicia he is survived by his children, Layla Faye Kimberly, Kingston Ryker Kimberly, Micah David Reynolds, and Jayciee Abagail Evelyn Bunnell; parents, Steve Kimberly of Monticello and Connie Holbrook of Dennison, TX; step father, Rich Groen of Debary, FL siblings, Meagan Kimberly (fianc Dom Bell) of Terre Haute, Amanda Miller (fianc Brent Billie) of Dennison, TX, and Shannon Groen of Debary; grandparents, Jim Holbrook of KY, and Wilma Holbrook of OH.He was also preceded in death by grandparents, Richard D. and Doris Kimberly, and Art and Phyllis Groen.Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm Sunday, October 15, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Full Military rites will be rendered at the funeral home following visitation on Sunday.The family encourages memorial contributions to be made to the funeral home to help offset funeral expenses.
