Reed A. Durnal

Reed A. Durnal, 89, of Monticello, passed away at 11:16 pm, Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at Monticello Healthcare Center. He was born on August 22, 1925 in Bloomington to the late Charles Franklin and Stella (Penrod) Durnal. He was a 1944 graduate of Monticello High School and had worked as a dispatcher for a taxi company and also a bus company. Reed was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball, and had coached little league baseball. He is survived by his brother-in-law, Ray Trent; and a nephew, Blake Trent both of Flint, Michigan. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Doris Ethel Trent; brother, Warren Trent; and infant brother, Charles Franklin Durnal; and a nephew, Reed Elliott Trent. Visitation will be from 11:00 (EST) am until the time of services at 1:00 pm (EST) Monday, February 23, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Rev. Chris Dodson of the Monticello Christian Church will officiate services. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Activities Fund at Monticello Healthcare with envelopes available at the funeral home.
