Raymond "Dale" Burnett

Raymond "Dale" Burnett, 93, of Monticello passed away on Monday, November 24, 2025 at Milner Healthcare Center in Rossville.

He was born on August 22, 1932 at the family farm in Harrison County to the late Curtis and Cora (Montgomery) Burnett. On October 26, 1952, he married Norma June Van Meter in Delphi. She preceded him in death on January 24, 2025.

Dale served in the United States Army. He then worked for ALCOA as a machine operator. He was a member of the Monticello VFW. He enjoyed gardening and scavenging for old artifacts that he liked to collect.

He is survived by son, Ronald "Ron" D. (Virginia) Burnett of Lafayette; daughter, Debra (Leonard) Padilla of Green River, WY; grandchildren, Adrian Padilla, Madison Padilla, Holly Burnett; great-grandchildren, Aidan Burnett, Evan Padilla and Caroline Padilla; sister, Wilma Simon of Logansport, IN.In addition to his parents and wife Norma, he was also preceded in death by siblings, Edwin Burnett, Evert Burnett, Thelma Downey, Curtis Burnett, Geneva Heinzelman, Guilford Burnett, Fred Burnett, Winona Burnett, Betty Hearson, Darrell Burnett, Don Burnett, Paul Burnett.
