Randy J Madlung

Randy J. Madlung, 62, of Monticello, passed away at 12:50 am, Friday, December 26, 2014 at Monticello Health Care Center. He was born on February 27, 1952 in Indianapolis to the late Jack R. and Anna "Jean" (Pond) Madlung. On April 8, 1979, he married Rebecca Barnhart in Lafayette and she survives. Randy graduated from North White High School and attended Indiana University. He was a building analyst for Area IV for 14 years, retiring in 2010. He was a volunteer fireman for the town of Monon. He was a private pilot. He loved flying, playing golf, and the guitar. Randy played in the bands Onyx, Just Us, and Fast Reaction. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Monticello. In addition to his wife, Rebecca, he is survived by his son, Derek Madlung of Monticello; two sisters, Cherie (Mike) Ross of Indianapolis, Nancy Zeller of CA; two nephews, Chris (Gianina) Zeller of CA, John (Hiroko) Zeller of CA; granddaughter, Rylie Rollins of Roanoke, VA; and his faithful dog Wiley. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. The Deacon's Prayer Circle will meet at 3:45 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the funeral home with Rev. Ruby Kleymann officiating. Burial will follow at Bedford Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to Riley children's Hospital, Happy Tails, or to a Humane Society of the donor's choice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
