Randell G. Lawley, 59, of Monticello died at 12:02 am, Thursday, February 21, 2013 at I.U. Health Arnett Hospital, Lafayette. He was born on August 28, 1953 in East Chicago, IN to the late Raymond L. and Vera L. (George) Lawley. He served in the United States Army and later retired from the former Amoco Oil Refinery in Whiting where he worked as a machinist and fire fighter. He was a member of the Izaak Walton League in Griffith and a former member of the American Legion in Hammond. He is survived by 2 daughters, Christy (David) Frankenberger, Karen McBride both of Monticello; 1 son, Randell G. (Jessica) Lawley II of Monticello; 3 step-daughters, Beth (Rhett) Bertram of Monticello, Nancy Distell of Monticello, Jennifer Distell of Lafayette; 2 brothers, Jeff (Betty) Lawley of Monticello, John (Susan) Lawley of Lafayette; 12 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild. He was preceeded in death by 2 sisters, Jean Crosno and Debbie Simmons; 2 brothers, Gary Lawley and Raymond "Tony" Lawley. Visitation will be from 5pm until time of service at 7pm, Monday, February 25, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 7pm, Monday, February 25, 2013, at the funeral home with Rev. Ross Terry officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Chapter of the American Red Cross. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
