Phyllis Cadwallader, 87, of Monticello, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2021 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.
She was born on September 2, 1934 at the family home in Yeoman to the late Fred and Donna (Carson) Viney.
Phyllis attended Idaville Church of God.
Her first job was at Bakes Restaurant. Later, she worked for Bryan Manufacturing and RCA until it closed. She then did childcare until all of her children grew up. She was primarily a homemaker. She was a great cook and baker. She baked and decorated cakes. She made the best noodles! When her children were young, she enjoyed sewing and made costumes for the kids' various events. She loved shopping, word search books, gardening, watching the Hallmark channel and occasionally crocheting. Above all, she cherished her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Tabby (Ed) Kohley of Monticello, Melissa (Shawn) Downey of Monticello, Tanya (Ken) Hardebeck of Monticello; son, Dennis (Karla) Cadwallader of Clarks Hill; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Cadwallader of Lafayette; two siblings, Sheriel Weaver of Idaville, Nancy Norman of Monon; grandchildren, Amy (Josh) Bradley, Bradley Cadwallader, Aaron (Kristy) Cadwallader, L.B. Cadwallader, Josh (Bambi) Lank, Timmy (Brandi) Lank, Nathan (Jessica) Kohley, Mitchell (Keanna) Kohley, Zachary (Casey) Mummert, Alex (Rhiannon) Mummert, Ty (Paige) Reagan, Zoey Downey, Madison (Allen) Hurst, Draya "Addy" Hurst; grandson-in-law, Matt Leon; 22 great grandchildren and 1 on the way; and her best friend in life, Faye Lanham of Taxwell, TN.
In addition to her parents and life companion, Calvin Laffoon, she was also preceded in death by a son, Donald "Brad" Cadwallander; sisters, Norma Cauble, Lois Turner, and brothers, "Buster", Roger, Max, Floyd, and Lloyd Viney; granddaughter, Andrea Leon; grandson, Adam Cadwallader.
Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Harold Rutledge officiating.
