Perry L. Godlove, 90, of Monticello, passed away at 3:36 am, Saturday, December 24, 2022 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.


He was born on January 6, 1932 in Carroll County to the late Charles Robison and Mariah Fannie (Small) Godlove. On December 4, 1955 he married the former Louise Hibner at the Pike Creek Church of the Brethren. She preceded him in death on January 28, 2022.


Perry was a 1949 graduate of Monticello High School. He was a U. S Army veteran, and was stationed in Goose Bay, Labrador. He was a life-long farmer, and founder and operator of Godlove Enterprises established April 1, 1969. He served as the Lincoln Township Trustee.


Perry was a member of the Pike Creek Church of the Brethren Church where he served as a deacon, on the church board, cemetery board and co-sexton of the Pike Creek cemetery. Perry was a member and past president of the Monticello Kiwanis Club, the White County Antique Power Association and International Harvester Collector Club.


Perry enjoyed traveling with his late wife, Louise, wintering in Florida and spending time on Lake Tansi in Crossville, TN. He restored and collected Farmall tractors with his son, Steve which were placed in several parades. Above all, he cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. .


Surviving are his children, Deb (Jeff) Brady of Monticello, Sue Shearer of Carmel, Steve (Michele) Godlove of Monticello; sister, Marie Sprunger of Monticello; sister-in-law, Geraldine (Loran) Lantz of Delphi; eight grandchildren, Rik Foerman, Marcy (Jason) Foerman-Banta, Brad (Janine) Shearer, Brent (Amber) Shearer, Kent Shearer, Mike (Jess) Godlove, Matt Godlove (companion, Toni), and Brooke Brady; five great grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Robert and Edwin Godlove.


Visitation will be Friday, December 30, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of funeral services celebrating Perry's life at 2:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Jason Metzinger officiating.


Burial will follow in Pike Creek Cemetery with military rites.
