Pauline M. Matthews, 92, of Monticello, passed away at 12:50 am, Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. Pauline was born March 6, 1922 in Summer Shade Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late John and Dona (Paull) Harper. On November 15, 1939, she married Cecil V. Matthews in Chalmers. He preceded her in death on January 22, 2002. She was a member of the Baptist Christian Church in Royal Center. She retired from the RCA plant in Monticello. She was a proud National Shuffle Board Champion and her name is engraved on a plaque displayed at the National Shuffle Board Hall of Fame in Florida. Surviving are her children, Bob Matthews of Tow, TX, Patricia (Doyne) Nethercutt of Monticello, Jean (Ross) Andrews of Burnettsville, Mary Wager (companion, Paul Thieme) of Grand Rapids, MI, Brenda Geisler of Idaville, and Rick (Nancy) Matthews of Plano TX; thirteen grandchildren, Richard Matthews, Heather Matthews, Kevin Nethercutt, Kurtis Nethercutt, Michael Andrews, Michele Rush, Matthew Andrews, Sarah Mlejnek, Emily Karasinski, Tracy Businger, Troy Geisler, Trent Geisler, and Ryan Matthews; and several great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Roy Harper; and sisters, Flossie Adams, Opal Prouty, and Christine Whiteman; son-in-law, Myron Geisler; former son-in-law, Glen Wager; former daughter-in-law, Deborah Matthews; and great grandson, Parker Nethercutt. Visitation will be from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm, Friday, May 30, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery, rural Monticello. Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
