Patricia "Pat" Lynn Willoughby, 61, of Monticello , passed away at 2:57 pm on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on August 22, 1951 to the late George and Eleanor (Martin) Young in Stubenville, OH. On December 28, 1968, in Monticello, she married Glen Willoughby. They were married by Rev. Robert Ross. Glen survives and resides in Monticello. She was an active member of Calvary Temple Church where she and her husband, Glen, at one time mowed the church lawn and also helped clean the church. She helped her husband, Glen with the annual car show at the church, and along with many other tasks, worked registration. She attended Twin Lakes High School and Ivy Tech where she received her nursing degree. She worked as a dedicated Nurse for Monticello Assisted Living and Health Care for 30 years. She was a supporter of the back pack program and also supported the shoe box program at the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed flower gardening and landscaping at her home. She loved cats and dogs, especially her dog Abbie. She loved taking care of Glen. She loved cleaning the house and doing laundry. She loved reading, watching news and informational shows, and also watching casual television shows. She was Glen's pit crew during the Iron Man Grand National Cross Country dirt bike race (GNCC). Pat received her first heart transplant 13 years ago and fought a courageous battle awaiting a second. The family would like to thank the community, local churches, and many others across the country for their prayers and support over the past several months. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Willoughby; son, Evan Willoughby; an infant daughter; and a brother, Thomas Young. Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm, Monday, August 19, 2013 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home, Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10 am Tuesday, at the funeral home with Rev. Charlie Roberts of Calvary Temple Church officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in rural Monticello. If you would like to assist with medical expenses, a collection box will be available at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association, Calvary Temple Church, or to the local Back Pack Program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
