Nellie C. Ostheimer, 102, of Logansport, formerly of Monticello, passed away at 5:30 pm, Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at The Arbor by Millers Merry Manor in Logansport. Nellie had lived with her daughter, Leone in Logansport for the past several years. She was born on April 4, 1912 in Pulaski County to the late Jacob Edward and Cora (Stotler) Hahn. On may 31, 1947, she married Leo Ostheimer in Kokomo, and he preceded her in death December 7, 1992. She was a 1930 graduate of Pulaski High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Idaville Church of God. She had volunteered at Monticello Healthcare Center as an activity leader. Nellie loved gardening, quilting, reading, and canning. She is survived by her children, Keith (Elaine) Ezra of North Judson, Zona (Carl) VanMeter of Buffalo, and Leone Fritz of Logansport; sister, Ilo Scholl of AZ; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren; and fourteen great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by sons, Paul and Ron Ezra; daughters, Judy Bowers and Pauline Tallbutt McKeown; and six brothers and sisters. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of the services at 1:00 pm Monday, January 12, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Keith Raderstorf officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the Idaville First Church of God with envelopes available at the funeral home. The full obituary will be published in the Saturday edition of the Herald Journal and Pharos Tribune.
