Monty Wayne Teague

Monty Wayne Teague, 68, of Lebanon, IN, passed after a short illness on July 28th. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Robin (Schmitt) Teague, and his two boys, Isaac (Katrina) of Lebanon and Evan (Lauren) of Indianapolis. He was born July 5th, 1958, in Alexandria, IN, to John and Evelyn (Maynard) Teague, who preceded him in death.

Following his graduation in 1976 from Alexandria Monroe HS, he joined the US Marine Corps, where he received education in computers and electronics. Later in life, he attended Concordia University, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in 2005 while continuing to support his family.

He started at Data General as a field tech, where he met Robin, a client who always seemed to have computer problems. They married in 1989 and had their first son, Isaac, a year later, and Evan in 1996.

After Data General, he continued working in IT, first at Hendricks Community Hospital and later Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.

Monty found joy in taking the boys fishing and to 4-H shooting sports. After retirement, he and Robin took an extended trip out west to national parks, the Albuquerque Balloon Festival, and the Bonneville Salt Flats. They also enjoyed riding his Harley to the Indiana State Parks.

He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Brownsburg, IN, and the National Rifle Association.

In addition to his wife and sons, he is survived by his sister Dee (Craig) Roudebush of Muncie, his mother-in-law Mamie Shenk and sister-in-law Tonjia Schmitt of Monticello, and his father-in-law Bud Schmitt of Chalmers.

Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 6th 2026, at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Burial will follow in Chalmers Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Patriot Guard Riders.
