Mildred C. "Millie" Westberg, 94, of Monticello passed away on March 2, 2017, at 4:05 am at Monticello Healthcare.She was born on August 25, 1922 in Clare, IL to the late Charles and Eva (Kensinger) Byers. On May 5, 1947, in Geneva, IL she married Lester "Les" Westberg and he preceded her in death on July 9, 2011.She was a graduate of Kirkland High School in Kirkland, IL and served as a Navy WAVE during World War II. Before she married Les, she worked at DeKalb Seed Company for eight years. After her military service, she cleaned at the country club and then worked 16 years in the Twin Lakes School cafeteria.She was a charter member of the Calvary Temple Church where she was involved in the womens ministry.She enjoyed being outdoors, and enjoyed entertaining when they lived on the lake. She also enjoyed time spent in Florida after she and Les retired.Surviving are her children, Deborah (husband, Alan) Memmer of Monticello, and David J. (wife, Jeannie) Westberg of Osceola; sister, Virginia Pendergast of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.In addition to her husband, Lester she was preceded in death by sisters Helen Ullmark, Evelyn Durham, and Norma Bernardi; and brothers, Harold, Charles, and William Byers.Visitation will be on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 11 am until the time of services at 1 pm celebrating Millies life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Rev. Charlie Roberts of Calvary Temple will officiate services.Burial with full military rights will be in Riverview I. O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions are encouraged to the White County food pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
