Maybelle T. Mitchell

MayBelle T. Mitchell, 86, Monticello, died at 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2007 at White County Memorial Hospital. She was born in Gary on July 17, 1921 to the late George Yaros and the late MayBelle (Stackert) Yaros-Stoltz. She married in Gary on May 3, 1943 to James "Jim" B. Mitchell. He survives in Monticello. She was a 1939 graduate of Merrillville High School. MayBelle was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church, Reynolds, where she belonged to the Ladies Sodality. She was a homemaker and enjoyed camping, reading, and crocheting. She loved her family very much and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She especially enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Other survivors are daughters, Jackie A. (George) Coonrod, Buffalo; Pat C. (Don) Foulks, Monon; and Betty Lou (Ted) Westfall, Reynolds; brothers, Tom (Jean) Yaros, Merrillville; Bob (Carmella) Stoltz, Portage; David Stoltz, Portage; and James (Lee) Stoltz, Okla.; sister, Carol Trepane, Gary; grandsons, Greg Coonrod, Indianapolis; and James (Rachelle) Foulks, Goodland; six granddaughters, Theresa (Troy) Young, Avon; Denise (Greg) Ruemler, Reynolds; Shawn (Brian) Cain, Monon; Donna (Tim) Bushman, Pulaski; Cortney Sparks, Reynolds; and Erin Westfall, Lantana, Fla. Her parents and brother, Daniel Stoltz, are deceased. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Services are at 11 a.m. Thursday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Fintan Cummings officiating. Burial will take place at the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or to the American Cancer Society.
