Maxine Greenlee

Maxine Greenlee, 95, of Monticello, passed away at 2:20 pm, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello. She was born on March 9, 1918 in Yeoman to the late Clyde and Pearl (Austin) Julien. On May 1, 1942 she married Charles Stanley "Stan" Greenlee at the Methodist parsonage in Yeoman. He preceded her in death July 9, 1993. Maxine was a 1936 graduate of Monticello High School and a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. In addition to being a homemaker, she worked as a bookkeeper, and co-owned and operated Greenlee Electric with her husband Stan. She enjoyed bowling, playing bridge with her friends, and as a lover of sunshine, loved sitting outside on sunny days. Her family would like to extend a special word of thanks and sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff of White Oak Health Campus for unsurpassed care, especially during Maxine's recent illness. She is survived by her daughter, Joy Greenlee (Partner, Karen Toburen) of Presque Isle, Wisconsin; sister-in-law, Dona Julien of Monticello; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Leland Julien. Visitation will be from Noon until the time of memorial services at 1 pm Saturday, January 25, 2014 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Private burial will at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry, P.O. Box 323, Monticello, IN 47960. Envelopes will also be available at the funeral home. Online condolences can be given at www.springerfuneralhome.com
