Maureen Bauer

Maureen J. Bauer, 74, of Monticello passed away at 10:55 am, Friday, March 24, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.She was born on June 26, 1942 in Indianapolis to the late John T. and Maryann (Fitzgerald) Sullivan. On March 4, 1967 in Indianapolis, she married John T. Bauer and he survives.She was a graduate of Scecina Memorial High School and worked as a purchasing agent for Ford Motor Company from which she retired. Following retirement, she and John moved to Monticello full-time in 1992.She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church where she was active in Rainbow. Maureen volunteered for the White County food pantry for a number of years and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a degreed member of Ladies Ancient Order of Hibernians.She enjoyed wintering in Florida and playing bridge. Above all, she cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.In addition to her husband, John she is survived by a daughter Christina (husband, Mark) Nigh of Fishers; siblings, Margaret "Peggy" (husband, James) Maddox of Tempe, Arizona, Madonna Brothers of Greenwood, Jeane Russell of Indianapolis, Joane (Husband, Robert) Pittman of New Palestine, and Maryann Sullivan of Indianapolis; and grandchildren, Rachel and John T. Nigh of Fishers.She was also preceded in death by a brother, Michael Sullivan.Visitation will be on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 2 pm until the time of services at 4 pm celebrating Maureens life at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello, 202 S. Illinois St. Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church will officiate services. A second visitation will begin at 11:30 am on Thursday, March 30th, for one hour followed by committal services and burial at Calvary Cemetery Chapel located at 435 West Troy Ave. in Indianapolis.Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry with envelopes available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
