Mary "Ruth" Diener, 82, of Monticello formerly of Reynolds passed away at 10:05 am, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at White Oak Health Campus.She was born on January 12, 1935 in Talbot in the family home near Boswell. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Mary Ann (Metzinger) Muller. She graduated from Ambia High School in Benton County and was a homemaker. On August 28, 1954 in Dunnington, she married George A. Deiner and he preceded her in death on August 3, 1985.Ruth was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds, the Altar and Rosary Society, Eucharist Minister and had served on the Parish Council.She was a "Paul Harris Fellow", served on the Rotary Foundation in Monticello, was a member the Women of the Moose of Monticello, The John Purdue Club, and the Women's Catholic Order of Foresters of Dunnington.She enjoyed quilting, sewing, cross stitch, coloring and gardening. Above all she loved spending time in her faith and with family and friends.Surviving are her children, Becky (Ed) Jackson of Monticello, Kevin (Anna) Diener of Seminole, FL, Mary Ellen (Tom) Kelley of Lebanon, Mark (Kathy) Diener of Monticello, Chris (Mary) Diener of Lafayette, Jane Carter of Monticello, and special family member, Joni (Brad) Adams of Monticello; thirteen grandchildren, Jonathan (Stefanie) Jennings of Ft Wayne, Patrick (Maureen) Jennings of Indianapolis, Lyndsi (Norm) Guerette of Indianapolis, Bobby (Katie) Diener of Huntington, Eric (Tara) Kelley of Commisskey, Joe (Emma) Kelley of Lebanon, Erin (Al) Mattull of Monon, Katie Diener of Reynolds, Ryan Diener of Monticello, Rebecca (Jacob) Hatke of Portland, OR, Molly Deiner of Lafayette, Zach Carter of Monticello, and Max Carter of Monticello; great grandchildren, William, Coehn, Corbyn, Leigh, Don, Everett, Christopher, Catherine, and Lillian Jo on the way.She was also preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Edward, Paul, Jim, Father Chuck, and twin brother, Bob Muller; and sisters, Catherine Zimmerman, and Betty Budreau.Visitation will be from 4pm until 8pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. The Rosary will be prayed at 3:45pm Tuesday at the funeral home.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am on Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Reynolds with Fathers Jeff Martin and Finton Cummings concelebrating.Burial will follow in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Reynolds.Memorial contributions may be given to St. Joseph Catholic Church or to Via Quest Hospice of West Lafayette with envelopes available.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneral home.com
