Mary Eilene Coble

Mary Eilene Coble, 91, of Burnettsville, passed away at 1:00 pm, Saturday, January 20, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.She was born on November 2, 1926 in Ann Arbor, Michigan to the late Robert H. and Mary Catherine Opal (Matthews) Wood. On May 10, 1946 she married Robert Coble and he preceded her in death December 29, 1992.Mary was a graduate of Chalmers High School and worked as an attendant at Logansport State Hospital from which she retired. She loved children, and following her retirement, she volunteered as a reader at Eastlawn Elementary School in Burnettsville and worked at Noah's Ark Daycare in Delphi.She was a member of Lockport Church.She enjoyed crocheting, cooking, spending time with her family and babysitting the little ones. Her family was her life. Surviving are her children, Robert Coble, Jerry (Marcina) Coble, Connie Hudson, Randy (Brenda) Coble, and Peg (Bob) Oliver all of Burnettsville; brother, John F. (Karen) Wood of Monticello; sixteen grandchildren; and thirty great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by infant twins; brother, Robert Wood; and sister, Charlene Woodhouse.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello and also one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.Funeral services celebrating Mary's life will be at 10:30 am Wednesday at Lockport Church with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating.Mary will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Robert in Davis Cemetery, Burnettsville.Memorial contributions my be given to Eastlawn PTO with envelopes available at the funeral home and also at the church.
