Mary E. Ennis, 93, of Monticello, passed away at 8:30 pm, Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at Monticello Healthcare.She was born on August 5, 1923 in Lebanon to the late Claude R. and Evalena (Brock) Caldwell. On May 15, 1942, in Lebanon she married Morris L. Withrow and he preceded her in death September 16, 1943. She later married E.L. Ennis in Lebanon and he preceded her in death.She was a 1941 graduate of Lebanon High School. She worked as a hairdresser for over 50 years and was designated as a Master Beautician. She had also worked at Indiana Beach in ticket sales for eight years.She was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church where she was involved in the Emma Stewart Circle. Mary was a member of the National Hairdresser & Cosmetology Association (NHCA). She was a lifetime member of the VFW, American Legion, and Disabled American Veteran auxiliaries all of Lebanon. She enjoyed Scrabble, crossword puzzles, board games, BINGO, and oil and water painting.Surviving are her children, Michael W. (wife, Linda) Withrow of Bamberg, SC, Cynthia (husband, Al) Thurman of Fullerton, CA, and Alicia S. Fletcher of Delphi; brother-in-law, Harry W. Voorhis of Monticello; grandchildren, Ted, Rhonda, Rad, Tina, Paige, Richard, Nicole, Robbie, and Jason; many great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren; nieces, Angie, Rhonda, Brenda, and Pamela.She was also preceded in death by siblings, Wayne Caldwell and Jean Voorhis; son, Roger Ennis; and sister-in-law, Pat Voorhis. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of services celebrating Mary's life at 5:00 pm Friday, September 16, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Rev. Brian Beeks of the Monticello United Methodist Church officiating.Graveside committal services will be at 11am Saturday in Greenlawn Cemetery in Frankfort where Mary will be laid to rest beside her beloved Morris.Memorial contributions are suggested and encouraged to be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church Soup for the Soul ministry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
