Martha May Martin went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 25th, 2023 at 5:25 a.m. in her home.

Martha was born in Idaville, Indiana on May 17, 1930 to Lewis and Bessie (Hall) Rodgers.  Lewis passed away April 22, 1958 and Bessie on April 10, 1979.  Martha was raised by her grandparents, R.O. and Allie Bell Hall in Burnettsville, Indiana until the age of 16.  She then moved to Logansport, Indiana where later she met Austin Leroy "Roy" Martin. They were married on June 20, 1950 in Wolcottville, Indiana.  Roy passed away on February 29, 1980.

Martha attended Faith Covenant Fellowship of Monticello. In Martha’s early years she took lessons on how to fly an airplane as well as ride a motorcycle, instructed by her Uncle Elmer Hall.

Surviving are sons, Mark Martin, Charles Pressley (Monica) Carter; two grandsons, Chuck (Vicki) Carter and Jamie (Trista) Carter; two great grandsons, Tyler and Kobe; and three great granddaughters, Tatum, Chloe, and Kamryn; and daughter, Joyce Martin.

In addition to her parents and husband, Roy, Martha was preceded in death by her children, Robert Martin, KIA March 18, 1968 in Vietnam, baby Kenneth Martin passed away at birth August 18, 1960, Debra Kay Carter passed away December 1, 2012; siblings, Junior, Fred, and John Rodgers and Annabelle Tucker.

Visitation will be on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm EDT at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello.  

Funeral services celebrating Martha’s life will follow at 1:00 pm EDT at the funeral home with Pastor Darl Clemons officiating.

Burial will follow in Yeoman Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Faith Covenant Fellowship of Monticello or White County Council on Aging. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
