Marilyn Esther Kilmer, 92, of Monticello passed away at 2:56 pm on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello.She was born on July 1, 1926 in Monticello to the late John Herman and Hazel (Hollcroft) Bernfield. On January 31, 1943 she married Parker W. Kilmer in North Liberty, IN by Parker's uncle. Parker preceded her in death September 19, 2012.She attended Monticello High School. She was an owner and partner with Parker in the Kilmer farm operation. She also worked at Holders Pharmacy, Low Pharmacy and Rexall Drugs. Marilyn was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Monticello Christian Church.Marilyn was a precinct volunteer. She enjoyed reading and watching basketball. She along with her husband Parker, enjoyed 27 years spent wintering in Leesburg, FL.
Surviving are her children, Richard (Linda) Kilmer of Gainesville, FL, Ruth Ann (Michael) Shindler of Defiance, OH, David (Linda) Kilmer of Monticello, IN, and Mary Lou (Michael) Keever of Carmel, IN; grandchildren, Robin (Steve) Parker of Gainesville, FL, Erica (Sean) Watson of Gainesville, FL, Chad (Julissa)Kilmer of Windermere, FL, Jill (Rob) Cheek of Cincinnati, OH, Janet (Mark) Evers of Marysville, OH, Judy (Jason) Schultz of Defiance, OH, Kelly (Trent) Provo of Bedford, IN, Jim (Chelsie) Kilmer of Monticello, IN, Amy (Robbie) Wehmer of Wadesville, IN. Justin (Nikki) Keever of Noblesville, IN, and Laura (Jace) Smith of Westfield, IN; and 31 great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her infant son, James Parker Kilmer; siblings, infant sister, Dorothy May Bernfield, William "Bud" (Aryles) Bernfield, and Harry (Josephine) Bernfield, Ruth (Arrell L.) Eidson, Rosemary (Richard) Million; and brother-in-law, W.B. "Bill" (Dee) Kilmer.
Visitation will be from 11 am until 1 pm on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Monticello Christian Church located at 105 Gordon Rd., Monticello, IN.
Funeral services celebrating Marilyn's life will follow at 1 pm at the church with Rev. Chris Dodson officiating.
Burial will be in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Monticello.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Monticello Christian Church or to White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the church.
