Marilyn J. Ribbe, 81, of Monticello, IN., passed away at 6:14 am, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at I U Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.She was born on August 7, 1936 in Villa Grove, IL to the late Ralph and Harriett (Murray) Gerrard.On June 15, 1958 she married Phillip L. Ribbe at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Danville, IL. He survives in Monticello,IN. Marilyn resided in Danville, IL until 1965, she raised her family in Kankakee, IL until her retirement to Monticello in 1995. Marilyn attended the St. Paul's Lutheran Church while living in Kankakee, IL. She went on to attend the Monticello United Methodist Church while living in Monticello. She was the former president of the Riverside Medical Center Auxiliary in Kankakee, IL. Marilyn also was a member of the Merry Mixers Home Ec Club in Monticello, IN. Along with her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles "Chuck" (Teresa) Ribbe of Phoenix, AZ and Richard "Rick" (Marsha) Ribbe of North Canton, OH; five grandchildren, Tyler (Briana), Kara, Meredith, Andrew, Alexander and a great granddaughter, Riley. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Ralph and William Gerrard and a sister, Gracia Dyer. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm (CST) Thursday, December 14, 2017 at Schreffler Funeral Home, 1900 West Court Street, Kankakee, IL 60901.Visitation will also be held from 10am (EST) until the time of funeral services at 12pm (EST) on Friday, December 15, 2017 at Monticello United Methodist Church, Monticello, IN. Burial will follow on Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 10am (CST) at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Danville, IL. Memorial contributions may be given to the Monticello United Methodist Church, Monticello, IN or to the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Kankakee, IL.
