Marie Christine Phipps

Marie Christine Phipps, 101, of Chesterton, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2022 at Chesterton Manor.

She was born on February 2, 1921 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Theodore and Mable (Fontaine) Helgerson.

Marie was a member of the Jehovah Witness Kingdom Hall. She was in nursing training while her husband was at war, and then took on being a homemaker and raising her children. She enjoyed flowers.

She is survived by her children, John Phipps of Chesterton, Carol (Dan) Alwine of Warsaw, Marilyn (Harold) Williams of Brook, Sidney (Glen) FujiYama of Los Angles, CA, William (Valarie)Phipps of Orland, FL, Sarah (Richard) Lindborg of Winamac and Charles (Roberta) Phipps of Monticello; two brothers, Glenn and Halvin Helgerson; grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother to many.

Funeral services will be held privately for the family.
