Marguerite Fay Hedges

Marguerite Fay Hedges, 89, of Monon, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 8:04 am, at Mulberry Health and Retirement Home in Mulberry, IN. She was born September 3, 1917 in Monon, IN to the late Tone Pratt, and the late Rose ( Hazel ) Pratt. She married the late Ira B. Hedges on December 23, 1945, at the Monon First Baptist Church. He passed away November 9, 1974. Mrs. Hedges graduated from Monon High School in 1936. She was also a 1939 graduate of Ball State Teachers College. Mrs. Hedges was an Elementary School teacher for 34 1/2 years at Monon, Francesville, Delphi, Logansport and Lafayette. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Monon. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Remington Chapter 169. She was a member of the Indiana and White County Retired Teachers Associations. She was active in the White County 4-H Fair Organization and a honorary member of the 4H Queen Contest Committee. She was a member of the Monon American Legion Womens Aux. She was also a member of the Ball State Alumni Association. She was a member of the Monon Civic Preservation Society and Current Literature Club in Monon. Memorials may be made to the White County Ag Assocition. Survivors: 2 Daughters, Debra Hedges of Crown Point, IN, Gay Lynn Hedges of Monon, IN; Brother, Harold Pratt of Monon, IN; 2 Nieces, Carol Sue Pratt (Jim) McGill of Monon, IN; Connie Fritz (Daniel)Vanaman of Winamac, IN 2 Nephews, Harold Richard Pratt of Monticello, IN, Kenny Fritz of Winamac, IN Preceded in Death: Parents, Husband, and Brother-in-law Lewis Hedges. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 from 4-9PM at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. An Eastern Star Service will be held on Thursday at 7:30PM. A Visitation will also be held on Friday, April 20, 2007 from 9AM until the time of the service at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 20, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Monon Cemetery.
