Marcella M. Howard, of Monon, Ind., after 96 years of a good and long life, went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 7, 2022.
Born on June 12, 1925 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Charles N. and Lois (Lucas) Horne; She lived in Bristol Tennessee until On June 21, 1947 she married and devoted herself to the love of her life Hubert H. Howard who preceded her in death on February 10, 2007.Marcella enjoyed and was full of life. Active in high school, even playing basketball, she went on to the Nursing Corp. Marcy was endeared to people everywhere she went and had many great friendships. She attended the Monon United Methodist Church, was a member of Daughters of American Revolution (DAR) and the Bridgeview Bridge Club. Marcy was a past member of the Tippecanoe Country Club and enjoyed golf. She was involved in egg fabrication, art, and liked to bird watch. As a great mother she possessed a wealth of information, taught manners, diction, and gave comfort and encouragement.She is survived by three sons who loved her; John Howard of Lafayette, Mark (Elaine) Howard of Monon, Les (Kelly) Howard of FL; a brother, Charles Horne of SC. Her heritage was "replete" and rewarded with grandchildren; step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and step great-grandchildren; daughter in laws, nieces, and nephews.She was also preceded in death by a brother, Brian Horne, and a sister, Hilda SigmeirVisitation will be from noon (EST) until 2pm at the Monon United Methodist Church on Friday, January 14,2022. Funeral services celebrating Marcella's life will immediately follow the visitation at the church with her grandson, Rev. Adam Howard officiating.Burial will follow in Bedford Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to Compassion International. Envelopes will be available at the church.
