Lloyd Duane Wood, 51, of Wolcott, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at his residence. He was born on December 31, 1963 in Monticello to the late Lloyd V. and Anna M. (Myers) Wood. He was a 1983 graduate of Twin Lakes High School. Duane had been was a meat cutter and his most recent full time job was at the Wolcott Grocery. He was a hard worker and had always worked two or three jobs at the same time. He had also worked at Clark and Moore, Sanders, Hooks Drug Store as a custodian, Sunoco Gas Station, and at Indiana Beach in security. He was currently working part-time for the News and Review as a photographer. He enjoyed photography. He was an avid sports fan including the National Hot Rod Association, Chicago Cubs, Miami Dolphins, Danica Patrick, Notre Dame, and Purdue. He cherished times he vacationed with his brother Maurice and his daughter Melissa. He had visited thirty-two states. He is survived by his daughter, Melissa A. Wood of Lafayette; brother, Maurice Wood of Monticello; and several aunts and uncles. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, June 26, 2015 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Dewlen officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to American Diabetes Association or to a food pantry of the donor's choice with envelopes available at the funeral home.
