Leroy Earl Stangle, 87, of Monticello, passed away on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at I U Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello.
He was born on January 20, 1935 in Cass County to the late Albert Raymond and Nellie Grace (Kistler) Stangle. On October 28, 1955 he married Arleen Dimmitt at the home of Arleen's parents in Carroll County and she survives.
He attended Idaville High School and worked as a pattern maker at RCA for thirty years from which he retired. He then worked as a painting supervisor at Indiana Beach and also participated in several craft shows selling his wood crafts. He received an award for the best booth at the Gift and Hobby Show in Indianapolis and was proud to be placed on the front of the brochure for the Gift and Hobby Show. His hobbies included camping and wood working.
He was a member of Hickory Grove Church.
In addition to his wife, Arleen he survived by daughter, Konetta L (Alvin) Upton of Monticello; son, Kym (Cindy) Stangle of Delphi; grandchildren, Wendy (Jeff) Woodall, Joshua (Sarah) Meiser, Adam (fiance Megan Miller) Upton, Trevar Stangle, Cory (Tammy) Stangle; six great grandchildren, Heather, Timmy, Zach, Gabe. Lovaya, Draven; one great-great granddaughter, Aster.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, and four sisters.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of services at 1:00 pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello with Pastor Erick Riddle officiating.
Burial will follow in Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
