Larry James Turner

Larry James Turner, 75, of rural Delphi, passed at 8:43 pm, Sunday, July 19, 2026 at his residence.

He was born in Richmond Indiana on October 18, 1950. He married the former Cindy Morgan, the love of his life in Monticello on October 27, 1983. She survives.

He was a 1968 graduate of Lafayette Jefferson High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy who proudly served his country for thirteen years. He served as a Corpsman during the Vietnam War and assisted with the return of the American Hostages from Iran on January 20, 1981. He worked as an x-ray technician beginning his career at the former White County Memorial Hospital and retiring after forty-two years from now IU Health White Memorial Hospital.

He enjoyed trapping, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed going to casinos playing Louisiana Stud, Buffalo Slots, and the casino game Luxury Train. Above all, he cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Cindy of rural Delphi, he is survived by his adult children, Aaron Turner of Lafayette, Katrina (husband, Rick) Creitz of Lafayette, Travis Turner (wife, Dawn DeVirgilio) of Indianapolis, Heath (wife Nicole) Morgan of Lafayette, Larry (wife Tonya) Morgan of Monticello, Seth (wife, Ashley) Turner of Monticello, Thor (wife, Joanna) Turner of Lafayette, Nigel Turner of Monticello; grandchildren, Colby, Jayden, Parker and Kyson Morgan, Arley and Aspyne Turner and Grayson Hollis, Hunter (Kelsie), Kaitlyn and Finley Morgan, Faith and Natasha Turner, Tannly, Ryder and Race Creitz <3 <3 <3; sisters, Sue Watjen of Greencastle and Sandy (Ray) Delucca of Peru; special friend, Fred Hettinger of Lafayette; and his faithful furry companion, Molly.

The family extends a special thank you to the 911 dispatchers and all responding paramedics, fire fighters, and law enforcement officers, as well as the White County VA office, especially Nathan and Jeff, Baxter services, DaVita, and Dr. K, for their compassionate care and support.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Ann (Herbert) Conner and step-father, Harold Conner.

Visitation will be on Saturday July 25, 2026 from 11am until 1pm at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello. Funeral services celebrating Larry's life will follow at 1pm commencing with military rites. His nephew, Josh Watjen and Fred Hettinger will officiate services.
