Lana Mae (Whitmer) ChinnMay 3, 1954 April 14, 2016Lana Mae Chinn, loving and devoted wife, mother, proud "Gaga" and loyal friend passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at her home in Monticello, IN.Lana was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, on May 3, 1954 to the late Floyd and Ila(Browning) Whitmer. Lana was a country girl through and through. She loved fishing, family and friends.Seven children and nine beautiful grandchildren completed what was her most precious possession in lifefamily.To her family, Lana was many things: chef, counselor, confidant, cop (she excelled) and friend; above all, a fierce protector of those she loved. Lana had a huge capacity to love (and was a second mother to many neighborhood kids growing up). She also had a great laugh and didnt mind beating her husband or father-in-law in Pinochle. She made this world a better place, and she will be dearly missed.Surviving Lana are her husband: Philip Chinn of Monticello, IN; Children: Kelly (Myra) Hicks of Columbus, OH, Kresha (Rob) Limberopoulos of Columbus, OH, Keri (Jason) Thompson of Columbus, OH, Kegan (Kara) Hicks of Columbus, OH; Step Children: Philip Chinn of Columbus, OH, Margaret Chinn of Columbus, OH and Stefan Chinn of St. Paul, MN; Precious Grandchildren: Sabrina Hicks, Kamron Hicks, Athena Chinn, Kenny Salter, Demetri Limberopoulos, Dominik Limberopoulos, Hannah Robb, Keana Hicks, and Kegan Hicks; Sisters: Carol (Howard) Adams and Vickie (Bill) Quade, both of Poplar Bluff, MO; Nieces and Nephews: Mark Quade, Trevor Quade, Angie Adams and Kim Burns; Faithful furry companions: Kloe and Koda.Memorial visitation will be from 12pm until 2pm on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello, located at 202 South Illinois, Monticello, Indiana 47960.Memorial services celebrating Lana's life will follow at 2pm at the funeral home with Pastor Nate Pyle of Lake Shafer Christian Center officiating.Memorial Contributions may be given to the American Heart Association in lieu of flowers.
