Julie Christine Oldenkamp

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Julie Christine Oldenkamp of Monticello, Indiana. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Julie departed this world peacefully at her home and surrounded by family on June 13th, at the age of 54, following a long and heroic battle with cancer.

Born to Jerry Phelps and Vivian Puetz on January 26, 1970, Julie was loved equally by her step-mom, Jeanie Phelps, and step-dad, Bill Puetz, as well as her mother-in-law, Judy Oldenkamp, and late father-in-law, Jerry Oldenkamp.

Julie is survived by her devoted soul mate, Dan Oldenkamp, who stood by her side throughout her courageous journey. She was a loving mother to Camilla Collier (husband Mike Collier) and Connor Oldenkamp and a caring bonus mom to Jared Oldenkamp (husband Tim Brown) and Candance Montgomery (husband Chad Montgomery). Her heart was filled with pride and joy for her grandchildren, Stella Collier, Finnean Collier, Theodore Collier, Meric Montgomery, Macy Montgomery, and Maddie Montgomery.

She shared a beautiful bond with her sister Alyssa Chumbley (husband Samuel Chumbley), and also leaves behind her eldest sister Kim Rusk. She was a beloved aunt to her nieces, Ruth Chumbley, Sienna Chumbley, and Grace Chumbley.

A lifelong resident of Monticello and graduate of Twin Lakes High School, Julie was a cherished member of the community and a beloved local beautician. Her warm smile, skilled hands, and caring nature made her a favorite among her clients, who often became friends.

Julie's life was a testament to love, kindness, and dedication. She touched the hearts of many with her generosity and compassion. Even during her battle with cancer, Julie continued to shine a bright light and brought us all positivity. Her legacy will live on in the memories of all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Julie Oldenkamp will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to S.O.M.A., P. O. Box 42, Monticello, IN 47960.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later date.

Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.
