Joyce Hanni

Joyce HanniMonticello, IndianaOur dear mother passed away on Friday, November 18th, 2016. Mom was born at home in Geneva, Indiana, to Harold and Blanche Fields on August 28th, 1926. She graduated from Geneva High School in 1944. Mom and our Dad, Robert Hanni, were married in Geneva on May 11th, 1947. Mom and Dad have been together 73 years. They have six children, Cary, Karen, Kevin, Bob (deceased), Don, and Duane. Our mother was a homemaker. She especially enjoyed time with her children. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed vegetable gardening, cooking, and canning. She said her favorite place to live was on the farm, just west of Geneva because, "I dont have to share my children with anyone else out there I have them all to myself." She also liked the warm Arizona weather in the winter. Mom was the most unpretentious woman to ever walk this earth. Besides Dad and her children, she is survived by several daughters-in-law, 17 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, and one brother. Preceding her in passing is a grandson Seth Hanni, her parents, her sister Phyllis Newcomer, and her son Bob. A private family celebration of life for Mom will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be sent to Serenity Hospice at 724 West Navajo Street, West Lafayette, IN 47906.The Hanni KidsSpringer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello is entrusted with care.Messages of condolence may be extended at www.springerfuneralhome.com
