John Dixon

John P. Dixon, 83, of Monticello, passed away at 7:51 pm, Sunday, July 9, 2017 at St. Vincent Hospital in Kokomo.He was born on September 17, 1933 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Prichard) Dixon. On September 20, 1998, he married Gail Marie Drury in Gatlinburg, TN. She survives in Kokomo.John served in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956. He worked as a loan officer selling loans for mobile homes. John was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. He enjoyed boating and cherished time spent with his family.He is survived by five children, Susan Dixon (spouse Bill) of Indianapolis, Karla Richey (spouse Todd) of Kokomo, Stacey Ireland (spouse John) of Kokomo, Todd Van Zant (spouse David) of Indianapolis, Tonya Lauderbaugh (spouse Donald) of Kokomo; and eight grandchildren, Misti, Brookelyn, Sister Mary Grace, Arika, Tori, Kristin, Kylee, and Ty. He was preceded in death by a son, J.P. Dixon. Services will be private for family.Memorial contributions may be given to the humane society of the donor's choice.
