JoAnne Scharf, 83, of Monticello, passed away at 1:29 am, Sunday, November 13, 2016 at I. U. Health Arnett in Lafayette.She was born on September 3, 1933 in White County to the late JD and Melba I. (Miller) Hughes. She married Wilbur L. Hall and they later divorced. On June 2, 1964 she married Ed Scharf in Crown Point. He preceded her in death on May 12, 2004.She graduated from Roosevelt High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Bible Baptist Fellowship Church in Reynolds. She enjoyed monthly meetings with her former United Telephone Company coworkers and was involved in Moose Lodge, Twin Lakes Senior Citizen Friendship Club and the Live Wires. JoAnne was extremely proud of her children She is survived by her children, Darrell (wife,Mary) Hall of Monticello, Ken ( wife, Karen) Hall of Wolcott, Alexandra Hall (husband, Kevin Kelly) of Dayton, OH, Ron (wife, Alice) Hall of West Lafayette; two step daughters, Patricia (husband,John) Bawcum of Winamac and Donna (husband,Greg) Rothfeldt of Apollo Beach, FL; thirty-three grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.She was also preceded in death by a step daughter, Gloria Scharf-Beedie, and infant sister, Delphine Hughes.Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 16, 2016 at Sitka Baptist Church and also one hour prior to services Thursday at the church.Funeral services celebrating JoAnne's life will be at 11:00 am Thursday at Sitka Baptist Church with her son, Elder Ken Hall of the Bible Baptist Fellowship Church of Reynolds officiating.Burial will follow at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be given to the Bible Baptist Fellowship Church in Reynolds.
