Jimmy "Jim" Howard, 77, of Monticello, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at his residence.
Jim was born on March 29, 1943 in McLean County, KY to the late Edward and Pauline (Caldwell) Howard. On July 24, 1965 he married Sharon Thomas in Hopkins County, KY and she survives.
He was a graduate of Sacramento High School in Sacramento, KY and served in the Army and also National Guard. He worked in relief and repair for Ford Motor in Chicago from which he retired.
He was a member of the American Legion and VFW. Jim was a jack of all trades and was very giving of his time. He loved to fix things for other people. He loved the water and enjoyed fishing and boating. He was an avid NASCAR fan, and loved camping, traveling and tinkering.
In addition to his wife, Sharon surviving are his children, Jeffrey (Jolene) Howard of Monticello and Kimberly Kelemen of Delphi; grandchildren, Benjamin Howard of Delong, Krista Kelemen of Lafayette and Lillith Howard of Monticello.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm Friday, May 29, 2020 at Springer-Voorhis-Draper Funeral Home of Monticello observing current COVID 19 guidelines. The family asks that you wear a mask.
Memorial services will follow at 7:00 pm Friday at the funeral home observing current COVID 19 guidelines. Pastor Darl Clemons of Faith Covenant Church will officiate services.
Memorial contributions are encouraged to Faith Covenant Church to benefit mission programs. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Memorial contributions, if preferred, may be mailed directly to the church.
