Jerry E. (Kupke) Dahlenburg, 84, passed away on April 21, 2023 at 12:00 am at White Oak Health Campus in Monticello following a brief illness.


Mr. Dahlenburg was born to Albert E. and Gladys (Wheeldon) Kupke in Francesville, IN on August 11, 1938. His mother later married George Dahlenburg.He grew up in White County and attended the Wolcott and Monticello schools. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1960. After graduating from International Business College in 1962 he went to work for the Farm Bureau Co-op in Anderson. In 1963 he started work at Peoples Savings and Loan of Monticello serving first as Sec-Treasurer and later as President, Director, CEO and Chairman of the Board from 1980 until his retirement after over 46 years. Jerry was very active in the community and was a major contributor and sponsor of many youth activities. He was a former member of the Monticello United Methodist Church, Kiwanis, Society of Real Estate Appraisers and a former 8-year member of the Twin Lakes School Board. He also served as a member of the Redevelopment Commission, White County Industrial Foundation and the White County United Way. He established scholarships given by Peoples Savings and Loan to benefit vocational bound youth in White County.


Jerry married the former Shirley Meents on October 11, 1964. She survives. Also surviving are two children, Kevin E. Dahlenburg (husband, Rich Haskett) of Fishers and daughter, Kelly; grandsons, Logan Robbins (partner, Morgan) of Fishers and Ethan Robbins (partner, Brooke) of Greenfield; son-in-law, Harold (wife, Kim) Cleaver of Noblesville. Jerry loved his wire-hair Fox Terrier, Izzy, who was his retirement companion.


Private graveside services will be celebrated at Riverview I.O.O.F. Cemetery by close friends and family.


Memorial contributions may be given to the White County Food Pantry, Monticello Library or Happy Tails. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
