James V. Lang

James Vincent Lang, 81, of Monticello near Buffalo, passed way on Thursday, March 26, 2026 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.

He was born March 5, 1945 at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia. He was the only son of six children born to the late John and Kathryn V. (Burke) Lang.

He graduated high school in New York and earned his bachelor of science degree in New Mexico. He worked his career as a research and development chemist retiring from BASF, the world's largest chemical producer.

He enjoyed being a homebody and watching television. He cherished his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children James (wife, Patty) Lang of Monticello and the former Michelle Lang; eight grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters.

The family has chosen to celebrate Jim's life privately.
