Harry Edward "Ed" Lawson, Jr.

Harry Edward "Ed" Lawson, Jr., 79, of Wolcott, passed away at 6:44 pm, Sunday, October 2, 2022.


He was born on October 21, 1942 in Lafayette to the late Harry Edward and Lena Melvina (Lewis) Lawson, Sr.


On April 2, 1965 at the Wolcott Baptist Church he married Barbara Smith. She survives in Wolcott.


Ed was a 1960 graduate of Wolcott High School. He served in the National Guard.


Ed was a grower of Orville Redenbacher Popcorn for 50 years, and for over 60 years he was a grain and cattle farmer. He was a member of the Meadow Lake Presbyterian Church in Wolcott, where he served on the Church Session. Ed was an active 50 year member of the Wolcott and Remington Masonic Lodge, and the 32nd degree Mason and Scottish Rite and Shrine. He served as chairman on the Farmer Cooperative Elevator Board for several years. Ed collected antique tractors, especially Massey Harris tractors.


Along with his wife, he is also survived by three children, Douglas Edward (Stacey) Lawson of Henderson, KY, Derek Lee (Angie) Lawson of Reynolds and Kelly Anne (Bart) Harvey of Rensselaer, IN; one sister, Carolyn (Andy) McFerran of Lebanon; six grandchildren Brittany (Jared) Gray, Kale Lawson, Hannah Lawson, Colin Harvey, Korbin Lawson and Brent Harvey.


A celebration of Ed's life will be held on Sunday, October 9, 2022 from 1pm to 5pm EST, at the Lawson Toy Barn, 4029 W. 250 S. Chalmers, IN 47929.


Memorial contributions may be given to the Shriner's Hospital. Envelopes will be available at the Lawson Toy Barn in Chalmers.


Burial will be held privately at Meadow Lake Cemetery in Wolcott.
